For a healthy and tasty side dish, serve up white cabbage with bacon and onion. It’s low-fat and very filling. Cabbage is a nutrient powerhouse, high in vitamin C, antioxidant-rich, and has been shown to have anti-inflammatory benefits.
Fry the onion in butter for 2 mins, then add chopped Better Naked Bacon, which does not contains artificial preservatives or nitrites.
Fry for a few mins then add minced garlic – stir until they both start to brown.
Stir in the chopped cabbage with a little boiling water – enough to saute the cabbage but NOT boil it. As the cabbage cooks in the pan, it wilts, turns tender, and becomes sweet.
Season with salt and pepper.
Turn the heat down and stir occasionally so it doesn’t burn. Add a little water if required to help the cabbage cook / soften.
Garnish with some chopped parsley (optional) – serve as a side dish or as a main.
Optional seasoning:
Squeeze over some lemon juice.
